One of my very first projects were movie streaming sites. I got excited reading all the posts on dp about people making good cash with them so I spent a few days collecting information and then went crazy! Funnily my first site netted me $1,192 the first month which basically showed me, my future is in internet marketing.
Why? TV Streaming sites are a perfect project to start out in internet marketing since you will get a lot of traffic for free. Sites like Sidereel.com will send you all this traffic for nothing but a little bit of your time.
The Backdraw to this is of course, the traffic you will get is very low quality meaning you really can’t make lots of money from them.
You will need:
1. A domain (include the series name in title)
2. hosting (no windows servers!)
3. Movies
4. Traffic
5. Make Money
You got a domain & hosting? then let’s get you a website!
Since you will update your website regularily you will need a CMS (Content Management System) now this sounds fancy, and you might think of complicated stuff like Joomla & co, but you know a very simple CMS already: Wordpress.
I use Wordpress for all my movie sites, just modify it a little bit and it’s good to go.
Important things:
1. Use the All in One SEO plugin
2. Use “nice” permalinks
3. Use the Socialize Plugin
Also make sure you got a FAQ, Privacy Policy and Legal Notice Page.
You could either go out to the major video hosting services and simply search for them (megavideo.com, veoh.com, youku, toudu), or you could hit up sidereel.com and get a list of 5-10 sites that host similar content to yours. Now you simply go and check how they call their videos (and then find them at megavideo), or steal them from their site. (*hint open the source code and search for <embed or <iframe ).
but there are tons of other sites which will bring you traffic as well:
tvunderground.org.ru
freetvsearch.com
craftytv.com
tvlinkvault.com
ssupload.com
flickpeek.com
findtvlinks.com
ovguide.com
etc.
btw. I pay someone to update the videos and add the links 6$ an hour. So my sites are 100% on autopilot for me.
Also, submit a few pages to autoposter.com (digg, propeller and all the other top social networking sites) to make sure you will recieve your search engine traffic very soon.
There are also a couple of toplists out there especially for your certain niche series. (For instance for all the Animes or Cartoons).
Make sure to search for toplists in your niche and submit your website. I got a niche where a spot 5-10 listing on a toplist brings in at least 1,5k uniques a day!
And this is exactly the way I earned my money in the first month. I simply included a link “If video doesn’t work get Firefox here” with every video and got paid 1$ for each install from google referral network. (This will only work till end of August though).
Other options to set up are stuff like an online shop linking to results from ebay & amazon, a giftshop with T-Shirts from cafepress etc.
If you still want to use Ad Networks and you get 1k visitors or more (should be easy), then try CPX. They pay shit, but you can put up a couple of Bannners & Popups, Interstials etc with them. You can also combine them with ADSDAQ to get your ads filled on a higher CPM sometimes.
Another choice is ADonNetwork for interstials & popups (they pay $2+ CPM)
A last option is Zango. Problem here is, Sidereel doesn’t like Zango and will delete your links from time to time. If you use the forced Gateway you will get your site banned. Just email your Affiliate manager and ask him to give you the codes for the “non forced” Gateways, this way your links will stay up longer on Sidereel.
Alright I am gonna publish this now, and will post a follow up post once I get feedback, so make sure to give lots of it!
